The STARS approach includes change by ASSESSMENT: the drive to change has to be embedded in the middle management and existing programmes and projects. Champions groups that pro-actively push towards the assessment of current practice and advocate changes everywhere they can, are an important asset.

Management practice

The management practice is in our view one of the key sources for change in organisations. In day-to-day events and challenges, we find much of the burning platform for change.

Champions groups

This part of any intervention strategy acknowledges the key role played by a guiding coalition that provides the ongoing motive for change. A championsgroup that is valued, and considered an authority on the topics at hand.

Project management

Here the main tools are not surprising - it is about defining the right projects, supported by a real need in the organisation and that quickly results in visible improvement. These projects are well-structured and based on sound project management principles such as Prince II.
